While there is a great deal of valuable information to be found by searching Google, many scholarly and peer-reviewed sources, the kind professors expect to be cited in college-level papers and projects, are not generally accessible through the Google search engine.  

The most effective and efficient way to perform academic research (finding the information you need) is to search the databases found within the Research by Subject guides.  These guides contain subject-specific databases and resources specifically selected by librarians to help you in your information search
