According to the Oxford English Dictionary plagiarism is "the action or practice of taking someone else's work, idea, etc and passing it off as one's own."

Students are often confused about when, what and how to cite their sources to avoid plagiarism.

For more information what what consititutes plagiarism and when you need to give credit to another you can check out the Avoiding Plagiarism on Bucknell's Academic Responsibility website.
